GATHERING

     Musical Prelude

     Welcome & Announcements

     Call to Worship

One: Oh God, our God, we cry out to you.

Many: Asking, will your kingdom of peace be established on this broken earth?

One: Are you coming to intervene, to make whole your divided creation?

All: God, what are you waiting for?

     Opening Prayer

Loving God, we lift our voices to you today, crying out for a sign that you hear us, a sign that you are here and at work. We wonder, O God, what are you waiting for? In a world of chaos and suffering, we seek your light, we seek your hope. We call on you in our longing and our waiting; awaken us, bind us up, gather us into your goodness, and bring us your peace.

PRAISING GOD

Songs: Receive My Praise, Oh Lord!

            Lord You Are So Good

            Let Us Dance and Celebrate

     Responsive Reading: (from Isaiah 2:1-5)

Leader: The word of the Lord has been established for us.

People: Come, let us walk in the word of the Lord.

Leader: The Lord has come to teach us God’s ways.

People: Come, let us walk in the way of the Lord.

Leader: The Lord has come to bring peace to all nations.

All: Come, let us walk in the peace of the Lord.

RESPONDING TO THE WORD

     Confession:

Leader: Forgive me, Lord, for not expecting you,

People: even when you have told me that you are coming.

Leader: Forgive me, Lord, for being asleep,

People: even when you have asked me to wait for you.

Leader: Forgive me, Lord, for my carelessness,

People: when all you have asked of me is to care.

Leader: Forgive me, Lord, for failing to see you,

People: when your face is so obvious.

(silence)

Leader: Blessed be our God, who invites us to walk in the light of the Lord!

     Silent Prayer

     Celebration of Communion

     Song: Jehovah Jireh Reigneth

     Benediction (read in unison):
